  • Question about snakeskins

I was just wondering if anyone with more Jackson knowledge than me (everyone on here ) knows about the history of the snakeskin colours.
I have a snakeskin which the serial number tells me is from 2001 and it's a greener colour than others i've seen, which are very grey or they at least appear that way in pictures. Did they change the colour over time, or were there different options back then regarding snakeskin finishes?
Heres a picture of mine, so you know what i'm going on about.

    Thanks,

    Luke

Since they all painted by hand they have changed over the years. You will see variations in the patterns all the time and colors over time as well. Usually the color is relatively the same for a period of time. Lately they have been more gray.

Here is a shot of my DK1 which I want to say is a 2002 or 2003 model.

There's a 2005 built SNK DK1 in Leicester (UK). Told them about the scratches on the body, and they agred to knock the price down... from £1799 to £1650. Methinks that one will never shift. . As much as I want one, I'm not gonna pay that.

Not for that price. I wish someone here would sell me one (subtle hint).

The painted graphics are smooth. Just like most other Jackson Charvel finishes. The Real snake skin Like Warren's (at the least ones ive seen) have felt kind of scaley. under the arm. But they werent sealed so the scales were rubbin off a bit.
Thar one above is awesome. I've never seen one lie that before. Too cool.

This one that I bought a couple years back is from around 86 or 87 I believe. The Snakeskin graphic is original so they've been doing them for awhile. The color on this one is weird, it's gray I guess but it has some dull green in it too.

Also of note, this paint is glow in the dark (yes it really works), and supposedly is not legal anymore. I'm not sure if that's really true or not, but it's a semi-interesting piece of Jackson snakeskin history.

Thanks everyone, I had no idea that Jackson hadn't made LOADS of snakeskins the same colour as mine.
Now i'm even more interested in snakeskins around that time period

I had a GMW snakeskin done in that shade of green a few years back. Agreed that snakeys look best that way. Much better than the current greys. Although I dig the current copperhead color scheme a real lot, too.

I like this one. And for the record, I made this one purple in photochop. It was a limited run done in red. Im a sucker for purple anything and the added maple board =
