  • Rhoads V USA bolt ons? help please

Does this sound right? A buddy is selling it:

It is a Bolt on rhoads V
Says Made in USA on the headstock (and the Jackson name isn't in Mother of Pearl like my soloists. not sure if its suppose to)
2 humbuckers: 1 volume pot and 1 three way switch (no volume)
    No pickguard
No stamping on the neckplate, completely blank (so no serial number)
Took the neck off, no identification except some numbers Sharpie'd onto the neck
    Licensed Floyd Rose
It does have the aluminum cavity covers

Anyone know what this thing is? 2 things have me wondering what it is: the licensed floyd (not a OFR) and the lack of a serial number on the neckplate

are there inlays? could be an RR2, which was a bolt on. sounds a little fishy, tho.

            RR2

I think they were only made for 1 or 2 years..

            Check the audiozone scans..

RR2's were made in USA? Cool, I didn't know that...
I always thought those are MIJ

I'll go out on a limb here and say RR2.

I've seen several RR2s with blank neck plates. I believe those came from a dealer who went out of business, and the liquidated inventory had serial numbers removed. Here in Minnesota, a Music-Go-Round shop had a bunch of RR2s and Hamers like that, all from the same dealer.

What is the reasoning for that? That doesn't sound right. They were still new right? Why would the plates & serial numbers need to be removed?

Yeah, I don't get it either. There is no reason to mess with the plates. All I can think of is that jackson ran out of plates at the end? maybe
