  • I ordered a Trans red KE2 in late July. It was hopefully going to be here in 2 1/2 -4 months. The dealer talked to Mike Kotzen about the holdup because he expected it to be here already. He's waiting on Mike to check progress or at least give an ETA on it. That was about 3 1/2 weeks ago. Still no word. Don't know if I can wait 6-7 months or more, lol. Getting a little frustrated. Even if it's in progress or not started at all, I just want to know something, lol. We're recording now and have gigs coming up. I really hoped it would have been here by now. Can't wait to get it in my hands, lol. All I can do is wait, I guess.

P.S. By the way, Nick has gone above and beyond in trying to find out what's going on, and Chris was really helpful when there was a problem with the Demmel I ordered this past summer. I know he's really busy, though.

            • Really? I've heard nothing good about him, except on his site where he claims its all from the people that are from companies he won't sell. So I thought here's something to waste my time checking out so I did what I always do before I deal with something suspect. Check them out on BBB's website. I was going to buy a kit from him but I think they're other places to get a kit to dink with building that will prolly be less of a headache. Look him up in Las Vegas it's a hoot.

                        • Question for you Jackson gurus...why do some guitars have Custom Shop on the headstock and others don't? Case in point the OO7 soloist at the start of the thread.

Here's my guitar although I've posted it before. No Custom Shop on my headstock either but its obviously not a production model. Thanks!

                          • From what I recall, the CS logo came into use in the mid 90's, but it is optional. It seems like all 'factory spec' CS guitars get the logo i.e. NAMM guitars, factory in-stock customs etc.

Therefore, my understanding would be that if a guitar is a custom built after the mid-90s and it doesn't have the CS logo, it's likely a customer order and the customer specified 'no' to the CS logo option.
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

The 007 Soloist is mine. You can order a CS guitar with or without the CS logo. they will even put it on the back of the headstock if you want Yours is a CS but the original owner, assuming it wasn't ordered by you, may have specified no logo when it was ordered. Actually, on mine i don't recall specifying whether to put it on there or not. I also have a Cracked Mirror CS Rhoads which not only doesn't say CS but also doesn't say Made In USA. Just plain Jackson on it. They'll do whatever you want. Nice CS axe you got there BTW.

                              • Hi everybody,

for those interested in my story, I just had Chris on the phone this afternoon (morning for you guyz).
So the point is, they had a computer crash and they had some delay with CS orders...
One of my guitars (the kelly) is ready, I should receive it shortly, I'll post some pix asap.
I'll have some news from my other CS order tomorrow...

Chris was very helpful and friendly, I'm happy I have not been too angry ! (Quite impatient though )

                                Cheers,
