  • Finaly Complete KV2

Ok I have had this guitar for almost a year. I am sure some of you have seen me post about refinishing questions and what was the best way to go about it. I also had asked for help finding a person who does professional refinishing. I received tons of help and advice from my fellow members at JCF. This is one of the great things about being a part of this forum. In the end I decided to do it myself I was a painter in a AutoBody shop for a few years and still restore my own muscle cars. But I had never applied paint over wood so for me this was a new experience. The refinishing was completed about three weeks ago. I have been waiting for my guitar tech to reassemble all of the hardware and do a set up on the guitar. This KV2 was originally black and I had the full intent of changing it to Ferrari Red, but in the end I loved the black and went back to it.

Looks great from those pics - nice work!

Thanks RD I am real happy with it. Yes Bodomhc I replaced all the hardware with Gold. Including a new Original Floyed in gold.

When I get a KV2 I'll get one in black and do the same because it looks absolutely killer!

The quality of the finish looks really nice...very glassy. Excellent work. How long did it take you to do?

It reminds me of a San Dimas Paint job.

Good job on the finish, looks like it turned out awesome in the pics. Never seen one with gold hardware, makes it stand out more. Maybe get some gold metal pup rings for it too.
