So wait, you want neckthrough for the (fictional) added sustain, plus the Sustainor?

Is it so bad?I have a KV-2 guitar with Fernandes sustainer(photos coming soon )and I can tell you that neck through body construction can't give such oportunities as sustainer system(first of all it's controlable feedback)/Look what Vai played due to sustainer http://youtube.com/watch?v=zxEw_08eQ4s

That qualifies as a "little bigger" to you? And an easy job handled by many people? Not to mention the additional route for the battery boxes (no, they won't fit in the electronics cavity on a sustainer-equipped guitar), and a half-assed "route and fill" job will be required to move the middle pickup far enough away from the sustainer. Oh, and then he'll have to refin the whole guitar to cover up all the mod routes work. Uh, no thanks.

Ok the cavity is a lot bigger.

Does the middle pickup actually have to be moved? I thought that was just preference.

Sorry I'm posting from the perspective of someone who cannot afford $4k+ for a guitar no matter what and was looking for a solution from that angle.

I recently inquired the custom shop for a standard DK1 with a copperhead snakeskin finish with chrome hardware nstead of black. (the hardware was the only difference from a standard DK1 mind you) The cost quoted me was $3200.00+ with a 9-12 month wait. To get it with the standard black hardware is costing me $1800.00 and change with a three month wait. Heck, I figured I'll buy my own chrome hardware and install it myself for that difference.

Get a Ran. Quicker build, and cheaper. They will make exact Jackson copies, aside from the logo.

Those guitars have always interested me, a lot of people say I wouldn't like them though, something about the neck's not being the same as Jackson..

There's are like.."D" or something? I'm not too sure. They're mainly death metal-rhythm type guitars, too.

You'll be way better off financially getting a Sustainiac (IIRC, they were the original before Floyd Rose did his Sustainor thing). The board will fit in the current Soloist cavity, and the battery too. It has all the options the PC-1 model has, for about $250 or less.

I have one and had it in a DK2 (H-S-S). The middle pickup was not so close as to interfere with the driver (neck pickup), and even comes with a small isolation tab you can place in the cavity with the driver to keep it from interfering.
