Thanks Mex... it is cool and being San Dimas and all, has a great playing neck to it. Since I'm partial to Kahler's, other than a reverse head, this guitar is pretty much perfect.. 
As for the red V, well, I can't say anyone was happy in the end, but I've long since moved past crying about it... I guess my wish would be to get the eye-candy that went with it, which included the RC signed back plate, to make it whole again...and maybe even heal the wounds... who knows...
