  • Ever seen a Jackson like this?

Any idea what this is? I was looking for a Soloist case on flea-bay and found this. The best I could come up with is a Dinky with a Rhoads neck maybe?

Well the 22 frets on the bolt on neck with the "made in usa" threw me off. I didn't think the Dinky came with 22, thought it had 24.

The mid 90's Dinky was indeed 22 frets. But why would you have thought that was a Rhoads neck? The only bolt on USA Rhoads neck had NO inlays and lacked the mop Jackson logo with binding. By the late 90's or so the Dinky began to feature 24 frets again.

Well I figured the body was a Dinky but couldn't find any info on a "made in usa" with 22 frets, only 24 frets. However I did notice that the Rhoads had 22 frets & "made in usa". I figured this was the place to ask to find out what it is. Found the link to the scan & yup, that's the exact same one. Now the next question is what is it worth?

it's worth what you think it is worth...they're great players...eventually i will have to go find one myself but i am partial to the blue ones...average they go for 1000-1300 if i recall correctly...d.m.

Interesting, I didn't think they would go for that much. How does this compare to an SL1 from the same era? Thanks for all your information and help.

The quality is on par with a Soloist. It's just 2 less frets and bolt on design. In one catalog, Jackson actually called the Dinky a "detachable neck" Soloist.
