I agree with everything Zeegler & Bengal have said. Once my guitars are set up, I usually just have to adjust the truss rod twice a year, mostly on my oiled necks. On message boards, I always like to talk in terms of relief instead of action when talking about truss rod adjustment, because there are a lot of inexperienced people who may have a new or used guitar that's never been set up right. They often misunderstand & jump right into messing with the truss rod as the main way of adjusting their action rather than going through the steps correctly like Zeegler outlined.

I'm pleased my 80's Jackson USA necks seem to be stable as rocks since I still can't find a freakin' truss wrench that fits in the damn cavity! If anyone know where I can find one, let me know. The nuts are all 1/4", but the cavity is so shallow & narrow the standard 1/4" rods can't be angled in there.
