RR2470...'89 Jackson Rhoads

    RR2470...'89 Jackson Rhoads

    This one got here yesterday .

    First impressions:
    - poplar body in this one is really heavy
    - Ibanez thin neck!
    - vey nice sound with lots of sustain
    - Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge and Seymour&Duncan JBJ in the neck, I assume these are not the original pickups....there are also old pickup ring holes visible from the oversized pickup ring.

    I played it a lot today and it's definitely on par with my San Dimas RR.

    Some pics:
    Clean, pearl gold logo (just like the pinstripes), no made in USA text:

            Awesome with the Jackson logo. Seen that one on eBay years ago, it's getting around, huh?

                  It's never enough! Seriously though, I bought like 10 of them so far in 2 years, but never owned more than 4 of them at the same time. I have 4 now too. I can afford a new guitar only by selling the old one away.

                  Yeah, I was just saying what it compares too. I had plenty of other "normal" Jackson necks and this one is much thinner...I didn't know they used to make them so thin. Could it be early version of the speed neck?

                  I really like the clean logo without made in USA text. Would have looked better in white to me though. But gold is not that bad either, it has pearl inside and shines nicely when light hits it in certain angles .

                  Peter (Pebber) bought it off eBay few years ago and now sold it to me .
