    It's the same cheap metal as the JT-6

    Seems like something like this Kahler locking nut would work better? It definitely looks like the holes for the screws are in the same spots.
    I do agree with the other posters , the Kahler is better bult, because of the material, besides that, the allen wrench keeps high torques better than a blade cut, that on the other side was chosen I think to avoid to use tools to change a string.

    For Budman, I think his screws are made of harder material than the original one, therefore I'd recommend, but if the problem is the real nut, maybe the solution is lubricating the slots for the strings with some graphite.
