Update:
Guitar picked up today. Dots now level with binding, damage between neck and headstock (top E) repaired, allum/hex keys replaced. Replacement hardshell Jackson case in a week or two.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Just spoken to Fender UK directly. It's definitely 2005 and they did do the work on it. So that's put my mind at rest. They will not, however, verify that a replacement case has been ordered.
Well, here it is from monday:
