When FMIC bought Jackson, they stopped Jackson making guitars using Gibson body shapes (V, Explorer and Firebird).

Well the story I 'know' is that FMIC have a 'gentlemen's agreement' with Gibson not to infringe on each others designs, hence no more Gibson superstrats etc And so when FMIC bought Jackson, they stopped Jackson making Vs etc.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Hamer.....

I think Fender / Jackson got the short end of that deal. Are Gibson strat bodies all that ? Seems Gibby really didn't give up much in that agreement. I doubt anyone really gives a crap about Gibson super Strats.

They made some models in the late 80s, good guitars, but their customers refused them.

Very cool guitar. It's interesting to note that for a guitar that's 8 years old, that there is no wear on the low E string fine tuner. Other than the finish crack on the top, it looks to be in really nice shape.
