        It's not a Dinky. It's a full-sized Strat body.

I would mod it to make it a HSH setup like he use to have in the original one in late 80's.

Congrats to Adrian, a very deserving player! This man has put in his time with Jackson/Charvel and is more deserving than some of the others on the Jackson roster in my opinion.

Will someone please post a pic of the Adrian model? The website is jacked-up right now and you can't download the catalog. Thanks!

The catalog won't load for me right now either (it did yesterday), but here's basically what the two versions look like.

Thanks. With the release of this model, I doubt Charvel will be allowed to release an SD1 in white for fear of taking away sales of the more expensive Jackson AS model?

                    Why?

                    P/u config is different.

Cable jack location is different (So-Cal).

                    Logo is different.

                    Pickguard is different (So-Cal).

Controls are different....5 way vs toggle. (So-Cal)

I'm sure that there are many other differences.

Those are just the ones I picked up on quickly.

Hell the two guitars in the catalog are different besides just pickguard colors and fretboard woods. If ya look closely, the amount of pickguard screws is different. White PG model has the old strat style 9 hole pickguard, whereas the black PG model has the modern strat style 11 screwhole pickguard....you can't even interchange them without putting more holes in your guitar!

Nevermind on my last comment they both seem to have an unusual 10!!!!! hole pickguard...can't really remember seeing that before on a guitar?!?!?!

Well, inherently, the idea is that the SoCal Charvels are cheaper instruments, whereas the Adrian Smith is a USA Select Jackson. So the AS should be better quality all round, plus with proper Floyd and a case.

Having said that, I wouldn't be totally surprised if they don't do a white SoCal for a while. That'd only be common sense to hold off for a while at least...

Here's a pic that shows both of them pretty well:

I'd be all over these guitars if they were Neck-Thru.

Well that wouldn't exactly fit with the current guitars that Adrian plays now would it?

Why? Don't tell me the old story that neck-thru gives you more sustain than a bolt-on.

Well, the main thing is I just feel much more comfortable and at ease with a Neck-Thru than a bolt on or a set neck.

and I secretly think that Neck-Thru does in fact have better sound and sustain than bolt-ons
