J7055 Hang Tag signatures....

Can anyone I.D. the signatures on this recently acquired a CS Jackson?
Seems (mostly) one Jackson employee worked on this one. Curious.

Nothing particularly odd about that, IMO. He put the hardware/electronics on, strung it, tuned it, and finalized the frets. Makes sense to me. I couldn't see the sense in having 4 different people do that. You're moving the guitar around the shop, or rotating people from station to station. Maybe for training purposes, yeah, but....

That's what I'm getting at. Usually it's four or five different names. This one has one guy doing it all. Just curious. Anyone know who the 'one guy' is on the hang tag?

Thanks for the compliment Neilli. It's "very metal" in it's looks - though the bow-tie inlays may seem girlie, it's rather cool in abalone. Got it used after being persistent with the dealer for months. About four or five months ago he had it for a really high price (approx. $2.5k) for a used guitar. He told me it was on consignment and couldn't budge on the price. So I kept in touch every few weeks and got it down to almost half that.

Odd thing, don't think it's stock. I think it originally came with an EMG. There's a battery box on the back but it came with a DiMarzio. Also, there's a three way switch set up as a kill switch and no vol knob. Not sure if the stock version had a volume knob since it's placement is odd. I might try to find out if I can track the owner.

That may be an optical illusion from the wide/thin inlays.

As to the signatures, no idea. Looks like "GB" or maybe "HB" to me.

As to the battery cavity, maybe the guy who originally ordered it couldn't make up his mind about PUs, and had a put a battery box put on in case he changed his mind and swapped out to an EMG later. Who knows?

I know. Weird. Which was one of the reasons I had to do some detective work. I got contact info on the original owner who ordered it. Sent him an email about a few questions. He hasn't responded.

I may mod it down the line w/ respect to the electronics, but for now it's staying as-is. Very Metal.

Yeah, it's an illusion. As far as the folks who worked on it. Found out it was:
Greg Burnett & Dave Hiland. I have another Custom worked on by "GB".

Hey! That used to be my guitar, congratulations on the score! I had it built between 2006 and 2007 and ended up having to sell it to make a mortgage payment. (OUCH!) I sold it to a GC in Auburn MA (for a loss) and saw it on eBay not long afterward for sale by some music liquidator. The extraneous battery cavity I had them put was in case I ever decided I wanted to add active pickups at a later time (I was wavering between Super Distortion and EMG's at the time as my pickups of choice) without having to have some monkey (or even worse, ME) try to saw into the body. If you have any questions I would be glad to try to help, I don't know who tried to give you my contact info but I never got any emails about it to my knowledge. Anyway congrats and enjoy! I'm glad someone finally picked it up.

Oh yeah, and the Dimarzio is the original pickup (see above) and the "girlie" abalone bow ties were a symbol of my affection for the late, great RR.

And a little more reading on my part... the on off switch is "stock". I originally ordered it with a kill button but that's what they put in its place.
