  • New pick up for my SL1

I love my new SL1, but I really don't feel the bridge pickup, it's very bassy sounding and even twangy or quacky at times. I'm not very familiar with pickups, but could anyone suggest one that would work well with this guitar and my playing style.

I'm looking for a pickup that would compliment a sort of Thrash Metal (Megadeth/Metallica/Anthrax stuff) sound, pretty high out put, but overdoing it.

    Any suggestions?

Would help to know what pickup is in there now. Is it the stock JB? I always felt that the JB in my SL1 was too thin, but so far I really, really like it in my SL2.

A Bare Knuckle Holydiver. I have one in me SL2H and it does better 80's thrash than a JB, IMO. It has a more pronounced low end, sweeter mids, and less ice picky highs than the JB that was in there.

Is it a JB you have just now? I'd have suggested that, but if you don't like it and don't want to spend too much money, you could try something like the Bill Lawrence 500XL. Or if you want Duncans maybe a Custom or Distortion.
