  • 2008 SL2H Mahogany Quilted

Hi, I'm new here and new to Jackson guitars in general. I just purchased a brand new SL2H (Inspection date: 9-9-08). The one I got is Mahogany with a quilted maple top in Tobacco Sunburst with black hardware. I'm curious because on the Jackson site, the SL2H MAHQ model doesn't come in Tobacco Sunburst - and in the transparent finish group the hardware comes in chrome. In addition, the model number of my guitar starts with 284 9539 while the model number for the MAHQ Soloists in the catalog begins with 280 4073. Is this guitar one of a new series? Or is it one of a kind? It says Made in USA on the headstock but not Custom Shop. It's a great looking guitar and sounds great. I'm very happy with it. Just curious about what I got. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

Specifications change all the time for guitars, and not just Jacksons.

The website would reflect the current model specs, not from almost 2 years ago.

I'm sure I've said this countless times - they should offer quilted finishes on all USA Selects, not just the SL2H and not just BCSB.

And they should offer black / gold hardware on trans colours too...

Looks killer with gold. Add some body binding, and it'd be absolutely perfect. I'd be putting money down on one right away.
