  • Metallic Black Soloist Question?

I am getting closer to pinpointing a US Soloist. I've determined that Black is the color I want and I could go with either an SL1 or SL2H.

My question is, I've noticed that a lot of dealers carry both Black and Metallic Black. I performed a search on this forum and was unable to find any decent pics. of Metallic Black Soloists.

Can anyone post pics. of a Soloist or other Jackson in Metallic Black? Also, is this color very metallic or sparklely?

I previously owned an EBMM Luke II in Sparkle Black and found that to be too gaudy for my tastes and ultimately sold it.

    Thanks!

    Found this:

Looks very much like my "ordinary" black SL2H, can't say what's the difference judging by that picture.

i had a metallic black soloist , and i have a black RR1. The RR1 is your typical solid black , the metallic is basically the same thing but in the light you see a metallic black flake in the the paint, almost like a pearl. Its not that big of a difference, but its there.

Would you say that Metallic Black is similar to the background color of this page:

My first USA Jackson guitar was a metallic black soloist. The finish was absolutely flawless, I was so glad I chose it over plain black. Metallic black is really subtle, looks really cool up close and has a lot of character. A SL2H in metallic black would be one mean guitar!

I was fortunate enough to find a Metallic Black SL2H at my local music shop. While it was up on the wall hanger, I looked at it from all angles and it was very hard to see the metallic in the black.

When they took it down from the hanger and I got a chance to play it, I was able to see it more especially when I lifted the guitar to eye level. As stated above it is very subtle and anyone that likes the Flat Black would most likely have no problem liking Metallic Black. It is not glittery at all.

Maybe it was due to the lighting in the store but it looked like the neck and body was painted Metallic Black but the top of the headstock where the Jackson logo is, looked to be flat black.

A quick Google search turned up these pics. Not sure if this person is a member here but even though this is not an SL2H, these pics look very close in color to the Metallic Black on the SL2H.
