OK now we need to talk about the elephant in the room. What we are really talking about is "couch friendliness". For the majority of us 30-something/40-something aging rock star has-beens, the issue of comfort as we watch Brian Williams at 6:30 from the comfort of our sofas while whipping up and down a phrygian scale has become somewhat more important over time. The classical vs. standard position has been covered. The other issue I would like to discuss is the input jack location. I find that the locations on the RR1 and KV2 and WR1 are very "couch friendly". I can sink my oversized ass into a couch with these weapons in tow and not have my guitar cord bent over harshly at a 90 degree angle. The import versions...not so much. I think "couch friendliness" is very important. Strat style output jacks are also "couch friendly". Telecasters and Warlocks and STIII's and Soloists and Dinky's....not so much. Comments?

The cord I plug into my soloist is a 90 deg angle so it doesn't bother me. I have a computer chair that is really friendly for guitar playing and may also use a stool. I just had concerns about buying one and the bottom horn digging in to what ever I was sitting on. I'm one of those guys that is really anal about scratching or nicking guitars. It still seems like the lower horn on the KV could get roughed up after a while.
EDIT: I concur about brian williams!

I have to agree with PhantomHawk. Warriors are very comfortable to play sitting and standing. I can't sit in my arm chair with it tho.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

" Couch friendliness"- that is just too funny, but I was thinking about the same thing as I was reading this thread. Fortunately I have what is known as "the magic couch", any guitar shape is comfortable to play while sitting there and I own them all. Not only that but "the magic couch" makes you play insanely better and propels your inspiration and creativity. No joke, I've wanted to bring "the magic couch" into the studio when I've overdubbed leads, but only wimps play their lead parts sitting down in the studio. As far as a RR1 vs. a KV2, they are both kickass axes and if you own one you'll want to own the other. You adapt to the most comfortable playing positions with either guitar.

This is my favorite couch-friendly guitar:
Note the output jack on the face of the guitar. In addition to that, it has a fixed bridge. The last thing you need after pouring yourself into the couch is an out-of-tune guitar and a locked nut. Get up off the couch and search for hex keys? I don't think so. Ok ok so yeah yeah some of you OFR fanboys have hex keys on the back of your headstock. Fine. However, that doesn't solve the problem of the whammy bar pole vaulting into the couch cushion and making all the notes go sharp. MEH! Fixed bridge guitars are where it is at on the couch.Last edited by Axewielder; 12-26-2008, 09:58 PM._________________________________________________
