If you are trying to get your Jackson to match the Gibson tone I think you are chasing your tail. They are 2 totally different animals. Gibson has always been known for their in your face tone and sustain and that is due to the wood and design of the guitar more so than the pickups IMO. Don't get me wrong, my Jackson is my favorite guitar personally but each guitar has it's pluses and minuses. What type of music are you playing. I can tell you for metal my Jackson with EMG's sounds way better than any Les Paul.
