Just curious, it that a urethane finish? I've got a silver metalflake CS Tele, and Fender chose to use urethane instead of nitro on the body (nitro on the neck though). I assume that it has to do with the properties of metalflake, but who knows.

I am pretty sure Marty used a urethane but I would have to ask. It seems to be a pretty durable finish and looks to be very deep. I am guessing many coats! I always wanted a silver sparkle V and could never get my hands on one. So Disco it is!

All pictures of KV2s have the middle Vol-Pot closer to the bridge. So does mine..

The KV1 and KV2 knob placement is the same. It's also present on the old KV PRO Mustaine models as well.

                    KV PRO

The PCS KV's like the one pictured here in this thread have what Jackson calls the "standard" KV control layout.
Only reason I am aware of this is because two of my KV's I had built in the early 90's had the PCS configuration when I had asked for the config that eventually turned up on the KV1/KV2. At that the time I ordered my guitars there was no KV PRO or KV1/KV2 to reference. Tim Wilson was quite upset I returned the second guitar simply because the volume knob was in the wrong spot.

Here's my KV from 1993. I don't have a pic of the 2nd one I ordered handy. You can see the PCS config drilled. I moved the knob to where I wanted it to be, like a KV1/KV2.

Wow, I never knew they had a PCS V that year. I snared up the PCS Rhoads that year (last guitar I've ever bought). Good job rehabing the old horse.

                            It's a Mustaine V, so i like it
A little too sparkly for my tastes but well done.
                            Congrats!

Most Mustaine's guitars never had the neck pickup wired. It was just there for cosmetic purposes. I believe that was why most of the KV1's shipped with the backwards wiring for the volume pots.
                                Yup, reversed volumes.
