Wow! Installed the Brass Big Block in my Chlorine PC1!

I think that the resonance factor of the various metals comes into play here.

You may have noticed how a Schaller Floyd with the cast base plate sounds different (worse in many peoples opinion) than say an Original Floyd Rose with the milled solid steel baseplate.

I've measured both blocks that I have and neither are quite 32mm both are 30.7?
I wonder if this will create an issue with the back plate fitting seems like it's gonna be close.

My PC1's has plenty of room at 32mm

I put a big brass block underneath the TOM bridge on the fugly mini bich project guitar.
It's what the bridge mounts to!

Not recommended for anything but an original build though.
I'll make one for one of my Floyd guitars.
I have plenty of brass to play with.

I've ordered one for my soloist and one for my RR1, looks like it will be a close fit to get the cover back on. we'll se how it goes.

I managed a 37mm in my soloist, but the extra height from the springs caused issues. I just need to take a dremel to the brass block to notch it for the springs.

What are they basing the numbers off of? For example, i measure the block of my workhorse N4, and it measured to 1 inch and 5 mm. But the block itself says "34" on it.

Is that 1" + 5mm? Or is the 5mm the width of your block? For blocks, It's the height measurement from the base plate to where the springs attach.

1" is 25.4mm

25.4mm +5mm= 30.4mm

I'd say a 32mm. (standard short block for Floyd's)
From what I remember 37mm is the next step up.
