Anybody ever own one? I always wanted a VV like Dave Mustaine played, but I am terrified to ask how much those things run.

There's one on Ebay for a nice price. Neal s. is selling it. He had it up for like $8500 a couple of weeks ago, now it's down to $4999.

Don't mean to do a thread hijack (ok, maybe a little), but I would love to see a "Show us your Doublenecks!!" thread.

                Siamese headstocks are cool.

I love the double soloist. I've always envisioned having a double soloist just for looks. Not sure what I'd do with the second neck. Probably keep it a 6 string and make it an alternate tuning like drop D or something. I suspect these are awkward and uncomfortable to play, despite the cool factor. Has anyone tried? Am I correct?

I may be somewhat biased but these are very comfortable to play. Most of all, the ease of switching between both necks is great. And yeah, you can't get past the 'cool' factor I guess...

They do look cool, but they're not too stable in the tuning department.

Yeah, Page and Hendrix didn't care, why should we? Besides, at the volume levels these things are meant to be played at........well at 117 DB close is good enough.
Why the hell doesn't Eddie pick up a goddamned guitar and play something?

                            They look awesome though.
