  • Vintage Jackson Custom Shop

    Hello,

It's been forever since I have posted here. I though I would share one of my guitars again.

From what I have learned this is a 1987 Custom Shop Super Strat w/a Bengal Tiger/Camo scheme, most likey made in Ontario with San Dimas parts. You can see the plate number. The only mod is the EMG 81. Has the original Kahler Pro Trem. I just feel in love with the unfinished maple neck, it's like silk (all my guitars have maple boards, it's my preferance).

Here is a video of me playing this guitar through a JCM2000 DSL 100...Please no fat jokes lol....
This was a one take shot, so I lost the time once or twice having a hard time hearing the PC speakers over the Marshall and a couple of missed notes.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

P.S. This is from the live DVD becuse it is tuned down 1/2 a step...that Jackson is tuned down as well.

Dude you are completely tearing it up! Great sound. That is probably one of the coolest bengals I have EVER seen.

Thanks again for the props...I tell ya, my band mate of over 22 years and I have searched for "The Tone" for decades. The closest we have found until a few years ago was a JCM800 with a Boss OD to rock it up cause it was a 1 channel head and you need a clean tone eventually so you cant have full blast crunch and no way to clean it up (EMG's help because of the way the break down when turned down). I found a DSL401 combo that killed and I used it for 6 years, hot rodded the tubes and some otehr mods (although it had some heatng problems..PM for the fix on that). All the tone you hear there is all Marshall, no OD pedals or distortions period and get this, the gain is on about 5...not 10, mids are about 8 and bass is 10, the bass boost is off and so is the lead boost. Now the EMG in that guitar is a lot of the "kill" I have to admit. Live, I use several Boss effects into the loop, one of which is a GE-7 Boss eq but it is set all flat with the level bumped up about 65% and is used as a lead solo booster only over my bud Toms DSL 100, NO EQ one the DSL other than whats ON the head......it works great. IMO so many bedroom and live guitar players scoop all the mids out, max teh bass up which just jacks that Marshall BITE right out of the amp and buries you back in the mix....Any more tips on that tone PM me.

            Thanks again.

Well thanks, not sure about the riffage...That was a one shot take and I had trouble hearing the PC speakers so I kinda lost it a couple of times, had to wait or catch uo to it but I got real close on the solo so the vanity in me kept the take....when I watch it I am litte embarassed actually.
