    I think Jackson has had to back away from that original statement. Or, at least, from how most people (myself included) had originally interpreted it. I know both from personal experience, as well as a later post from McD that seemed to be more limiting. Can't seem to find that later post, though.

    Bottom line: Yes, I think you'd have to go with a full custom order. The only other option would be getting enough guys together for a 10 piece limited run in the color. And, even then, there'd be a fair upcharge just for the special color.

    BTW, the Amber Sunburst finish was discontinued by Jackson on the USA line several years ago. That isn't a recent development by any means.
