Just an update, I'll get the guitar back on Thursday night. I'll update then.

I just ended up bringing the guitar to my Luthier because I wanted him to check the frets anyway, and intonation.

cool. where did u get them?
IIRC the saddels wont go much higher anyway...

I guess this one would solve the problem. Unfortunatly it's string through body.

            Alright... I got it back.

Bridge is replaced. Apparently the bezel needs to be on there. The saddles will not reach high enough if the bezel is not in place.

Regardless, the guitar new sounds amazing and plays like butter after Kevin had his hands on it.

Frets are all smooth, and mirror like.

I have to say that after I compared the 3310 to the 7330, I notice no difference in the base plate really. 3310 just has a slightly different texture to it.

The new bridge abd set up make this guitar play like no other. Keven told me that this was the nicest guitar I have ever brought him, and he's seen my former KV2, KV Pro, Fusion, and KE1T.

Yeah, the baseplates are very similar. The 7330 models have a slightly rounder edge on the sides it seems. They also don't have the Kahler logo on the left side. But yeah, nearly identical.

I was thinking the other day, why not take the rubber/fiber (whatever it is) thingy and have one made from steel? I'm not expert on tone transfer or anything, but I would imagine that would be closer (tonally) to not having the step-up between the body and the bridge.

What year is your KV1? Interesting seeing the ones with the larger fret wire.

                It's been "re-fretted" with Jumbo's.

Anyhow, the previous frets were worn off, and replaced with Jumbo frets. The guitar was purchased like this around this time last year.

                Oh, ya It's a 99 (alder).

I wish that I had one from 1996-1997 made of poplar. That would literally be my dream guitar (with LSR's).

Ah that's cool. I actually just had my KV custom refretted with medium frets. They're not quite as narrow as the "SBB24" frets Jackson uses on the KV2/Y2KV/some KV1 models but they're just as tall. Any particular reason you went with jumbos instead of the mediums?

The Alder KV's are nice. I have one on order right now. They sound good with the TB4 and have a nice balance too 'em. I dig the Poplar ones too, but a lot of them were on the hefty side. My KV custom is poplar with a maple neck and it actually makes my shoulder tired after wearing it for a while. Got a 3" wide strap and took care of that problem tho.

Never was a huge fan of the LSR tuners tho. They worked great and kept the guitar in tune very well but they seemed rather fragile. That little locking pin inside of the cylinder would break and render the entire tuner useless. Had to get a couple of replacements which irked me.

The previous owner refretted it. I'm nos tsure why he chose jumbo frets. It's a great job that's been done. But if it were up to me I would have chosen the same frets again (the taller thinner ones).

I'm a huge fan of hefty V's. I would love to see some pictures of your Poplar V. I bet it's wicked.

Replacing LSR's,, that sounds expensive!!!! Maybe I'll stick with my schaller tunners..

                      1998 was poplar as well.

I see. I guess if they're still in good shape no sense in redoing it again any time soon.

Here's my Poplar KV. It's a custom from 1993. Was originally Silver Metallic but was heavily damaged over the years. Decided to have it refinished in Black since I have a Mercedes Silver KV on order.

It's my favorite guitar. I've had it for 16 years now and can safely say it will never be one that I sell.

Should have the new KV relatively soon. It went to paint last week.

I remember that one now. I'm such a KV Sl&t, I remember seeing each of them but I don't remember their names :ROTF:

That guitar looks lick ass. Thanks for posting Pictures again.

Good to know how I could replace a worn out Kahler.
                            Great Pix!

Schaller offers tuner heads looking like LSR.

I dont know...I like the idea of LSR tuners, but they wear out fast and the 1:40 ratio is to much for my taste.
