Well I just picked up my Adrian Smith model today. I ordered it the week of NAMM and it only took a little more than two months. It's the ebony board version.
The sound of the guitar is great. The bridge pickup is perfect for 80's metal and the two single coils sound much better than I expected. The neck is wonderful. It has the same feel as a San Dimas, but just slightly bigger. I like the neck much more than the thinner San Dimas necks. Nice tight neck pocket. It comes with the typical Jackson molded case. Everything is perfect except the set up. The Floyd Rose is almost a 1/4 inch off the body and it the base side is much higher than the treble side. The action, although playable, is very high and not low enough for shred playing. It's an easy enough fix, but not what one would expect on a $2,000 guitar. I think they could have spent a few minutes doing a proper set up on a guitar in this price range.
In all, I'm very pleased with the guitar. I'm especially pleased with the short time wait for delivery. If you're on the fence and trying to decide if it's worth the money - I say go for it. It's definitly a guitar worth two grand. I've played a lot Charvels (This is basically a Charvel with a Jackson decal and neck plate) and it's every bit as good as any USA/Custom Shop Charvel I've played.
