  • RR question

Were there some mid '90's RR1 models with Bill Lawrence (or similar "blade") pickups made?

Yes, some Jacksons did come with the Bill Lawrence USA pickups (not the real Bill and Becky, but Bill's old business partner).

My buddy has an original '95 RR1 with the Bill Lawrence USA pups in it. Must have been a C/S option or something?

From about 1994 through about 1996 those pickups were stock on USA series guitars.

Yes, they are OEM. I have them in a 1995 RR1 and they sound very good, even if they are from the "evil" Bill Lawrence (maybe the evil is what makes them sound good)

I believe some of the MIJ Firebirds from the same time had BL pups, too...although mine has regular 'ol Jackson pups.
