To buy the RR1 for $500..

Well, I pulled the plug and bought my buddies RR1 w/ a Lightning Sky finish for $500 dollars from him. If anyone read my post earlier, it has a crack (that was fixed) behind the headstock. I really like the way it plays and sounds and for $500 I couldn't really resist.. Here are some pictures of it alongside my Soloist Pro.

$500 is $500 for a USA RR1. Almost a no brainer if the fix is good, but I can't really tell from the pics. Even if the fix isn't perfect, if it wasn't boogerred up too much, you could just have it done right and still not have paid what a RR1 is going to cost.

pretty much a no brainer for a USA. buy it for $500. hell, a new one costs $2K so 1/4 of the price for a neck crack is a great deal. scoop it up. if you dont, I am sure someone else here would love to buy it for $500.

Yeah I'm really digging the fuck out of this guitar. It's weird though, because I always thought that my Jacksons would cover mistakes more then say, my Strat. I've been listening to myself play the RR1 a lot and I see a lot of my weak points a lot better now.

But this thing is fucking badass and It just makes me want to head bang every time I'm jamming with it.

Congrats. I am proud of you. passing that guitar up would have been a mistake. that crack is a minor issue. even IF that were to ever become a problem, it can be fixed easily. I remember my woodshop teacher telling me back in highschool that a properly repaired wood break using wood glue and clamping it would be stronger than the wood itself. He would demonstrate this in class by breaking a piece of wood compared to breaking a glue joint. properly repaired cracks can be extremely strong.

You done good pal! enjoy the hell out of that new guitar, and dont lose an ounce of sleep over that crack in it. its a non issue.
