How is the custom shop with custom body shapes?

How is the custom shop with custom body shapes? I dunno if this has been done before but I have an idea for a body shape that could be called the DEATH RHOADS.

They have a Death Kelly with the Death Angel bottom and Kelly cutaways. I think a Death Rhoads would be a Randy Rhoads body shape with the Death Angel bottoms. Do they charge much more for a custom cut like that? Man it would be sick to have that in 7 strings.

Ha ha! I actually agree... just following the death kelly naming convention... i guess it could be called Rhoads Angel.

They did a perfect job on my WarAngel:




Though I did think it'd be kinda hard to mess up - Death Angel tips on a Warrior body. I figured if they could build a Warrior and a Death Angel correctly, certainly they could do both at the same time

But they truly nailed it.


Couldn't say how much the upcharge was for the custom body shape, though, as the receipt/work order wasn't itemized to show what cost what.

I did find the final price (just over $2000) to be very reasonable, though. Of course, mine was a bolt-on, and done before the price changes since then.

As for your Rhoads Angel, I like the idea. Would you go archtop or flat top/standard?

WOAH!!! The last one ^^^ with a reversed headstock is actually what I had in mind. That looks brutal!

Nice Trans Black finish too but I wonder if it would be a good idea to keep it associated with the classic RR and maybe do a White or Satin/Ivory White finish. Definitely no stripes though. That looks great with the single humbucker too.

Wow I cant get over how this looks so much better outside of my head and I bet it would look even better in person.

Don't like the lower front horn shape on the first two.

Overall, the design has a beer bottle opener sort of look to it.

It does look like a bottle opener.

I definitely like the 4th mockup the best.
