They are too big for me to play.

The color and the sharkies look cool on this.

Keep us in the loop about what J/C decides to do.
SLS headstock is the kiss of death when trying to resell a CS so no way.

As for resell value...it is pretty much 100% that you won't break even if you resold something like this, which honestly I'd say is true for pretty much any new Jackson custom shop today (unless you get a great deal). If it's something you really want, screw resell value, we only live once

I think 24 frets instead of 22 would be better, so that it would be different then a gibby in yet another aspect

Thats my opinion, good luck with it!

This is what I have decided and I agree.

Sharkies with standard headstock, 24 frets and 25.5 scale.

I think reverse looks good on firebirds, warriors, and explorers.
I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

I was thinking of the shark eyes as well. It's a block inlay made of 2 fins... win-win!

I think that's the best looking of all the options. Should be an awesome guitar!

What woods you going with (aside from maple for the top)?

I'd hit it if it had the standard headstock (balances out the large rear fin IMHO). How exactly does one go about "hitting" one of these, anyway? (And please don't call me a "fattie"... )

I think it would look really nice with a white binding like on the MM dominion
I wonder what it feels like to have money...

...ahhh fuck it guitars are better!

Mahogony wood for neck and body.

I still am on the fence on this order and I may add body binding.

This depends on what the price comes out to...

imo, firebirds should always have binding when possible.

other than the color, i don't mind the specs, and good call on the sharkeyes; i really like those inlays.

Standard headstock would be cool. I think it would be badass if Firebirds will be available again. Maybe they'll do explorers too...

Sully is right binding does set off the FB shape.Sharks yes.Either way on the headsock rev or reg should look great.
22 fret too 24 frets will add extra to the length of the neck by a small degree but just enough to make the guitar feel too far to the left.
case in point a 24 fret Kelly just feels too long 22 fret = perfect. For me anyway your mileage may vary.
                          Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Talk to one of the dealers here as they are "aware" of the Firebird situation then turn in your spec sheet, Tubbie.

See, I did not call you a "fattie"

In my daydream it would have Piranhas, a scalloped lower horn and string-through... maybe even 24-frets & slanted fingerboard... gotta go play with the CSG. lmao

For what it's worth, if you're doing mahogany with quilt maple top then I'd say keep it trans black, but personally I would also go with neck/headstock binding, string-thru, and lose some of the controls (unless of course you prefer to have all four knobs.)
I'd do volume only and 3-way pickup selector. I also think it might look nice with chrome hardware, but again black is good. NEVER switch it to gold though

I like 24-frets necks but I've gotten used to my RR1T's 22, so again no big deal...scale length will be an issue though if you decide to go for 22 frets only..I'd make it 25.5" then or I'd have to switch to fatter strings which you may or may not want to do

Oh, and regular headstock+sharkfins look the best to me...or as someone else suggested, the KV2T style inlays also look really cool IMO.

Let us know how it goes
