If you have to ask, then you probably can't afford it.
Don't mean to sound rude, but it's true. A custom shop that is not based on a production model (such as a 7/8 string KV) is going to cost at least $3500, probably more. But if you really want a quote, then put together the specs and contact one of the JCF sponsoring dealers.Scott

There's nothing wrong with asking. It helps to know how well you can afford it.
This isn't the '80s where everyone's a millionaire and therefore the "if you have to ask you can't afford it" no longer applies. That was a common phrase of douchery back when people could pull the cash out of their pocket or lay down a credit card. Today most people understand it'll take them a few months to save up the money for it. Doesn't mean they shouldn't know how much to save up.
USA Custom Shop neckthrough Jacksons start at $2200 and go up. Since you want 7-string, that's a custom body charge for the wider routing, not to mention whatever the 7-string neck charge is, but figure at least $2800 since you're adding wood and time.
Plan for $4000 at the very least, but expect it to go up by the time it's all over.
For the 8-string, I'd say plan for $6000 just because the 8-string thing is so new to Jackson.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Unless you want something REALLY off the beaten path and truly one of a kind.
My best advice is to SAVE yourself a ton of money and cut Fender out of the loop.
Buy something used...even the golden era Jacksons (-'83-'88) will cost you far less than you'll be UPcharged buying a new Jackson.
