Awesome one you got there. I believe the analine dye was used to make the grain standout, but rubbing in a black color into the dry unfinished wood. Then sanding it back some before shooting sealer coats. A little more work, but well worth it IMO.

I know what you mean - that's how PRS does their guitars. You can notice it by the darker black-ish tint that stands out more at the crest of the quilt "waves" on their guitars. I don't think Jackson has done the black/sanding thing, though.

I remember when this run was being thought up. Man they turned out great. Now more people need to post theirs!

Vintage chlorine. Yup. That does something for me.

Busdriver, your guitar was shipped to me by accident, so I saw it in person. Pictures will not do that guitar justice - it is flat out gorgeous. And it plays pretty damn killer, too. I was so very tempted to keep it.

I hate to even mention that, bro. It's kind of like telling a friend that you fooled around with his wife before they ever met.

DRM, your Charvel is smokin', too. Love the matching pointyhead.

                    I'm glad you didn't
When that run came up, I hesitated and then all guitars were spoken for. So I was very happy that in the end there was one left for me.

                    LOL, nice comparison
But since you are the originator of this run you don't have to feel bad!

Just swapped her out to 9s and, while I was at it, figured I'd shoot an indoor photo to compensate for my crummy pic-taking skills.

                        Wow... I'd definitely hit that!

I have a root beer PC1 myself, if it didn't sound so particularly awesome (moreso than most IMO), I'd have sold it and acquired a 2nd hand clorine or purple daze myself.
