Trying to decide on a color for a KE2...

I'll be getting a KE2 soon and I'm trying to decide on a solid color. I like the new colors (Acapulco Gold and Absinthe Frost), but I also like Ferrari Red. I have white, red, and black guitars. I don't want another black one, don't like the fact that black fingerprints so easily. Not a big fan of blue unless its that Trans blue Kelly a member here has, that thing is ridiculous cool. I want a solid color that is bright, eye-catching, and has stage presence. What do you guys think about the new Gold and Absinthe Frost? My wife loves the green (her fave color) and I'm leaning toward the gold. This may seem silly to others, but this is a lot of money and I want to make sure the color is something I can live with down the road, lol. Opinions and suggestions welcome. (I know color is subjective, but help me out guys, lol).

In my opinion the AG finish will have more classy appeal than AF. The AF kind of screams METAL.

I've seen both in person and both are cool finishes. I think in the long run I'd be happy with either.

Haha, only reason I mention it is because I have never seen a Kelly in that finish. Also, anything with an arched top or bevels tends to look really good in silver.

From the finishes you listed I think AG looks the coolest in person. It seems that depending on the angle and lighting that it gives off a lot of green tints also.

Yeah, it's a flip-flop. The green is pretty understated and still holds some of the gold tint. Thats what I meant by the classy comment above. I saw it on an RR1 and it gave it that Les Paul goldtype kind of vibe. I saw the AF on a soloist and it screamed LOOK AT ME!

Haha. Well, yeah... the shape isn't all that appealing unless you're into that Neal Moser type of thing. I was linking it merely for the cool color.

From the choices already mentioned, I like the AF. It looks great in person, as does AG. If you're looking for other suggestions, ghost flames look great on a kelly as does ferrari red with black bevels or snow white with black bevels. Good luck deciding.

Anything but AG. There are two AG KE2's that I know of and I'd like to keep it that way.

I love the look of a totally blacked-out Kelly with black hardware. It's sinister-looking with those MOP sharkies, and just screams metal to me. Funny thing is, I don't like black on almost anything else.

Get rid of your other black guitar(s).

I have 5 black and fingerprint-smeared guitars and a Black Ghost Flames fingerprint-smeared guitar and I love every last one of them down to the last greasy, smeary smudge.

Black doesn't show finger smudges if you scratch the shit out of it. Just saying.

On the color front - what about a silver flake color - I don't recall seeing many Kelly's in silver flake. You see a lot of King V's in that color, but not Kellys.
