    WRXT?

A re-release of the KV3 with 24 frets would also be awesome.
That's a KVX10 (been around for awhile), awesome guitars for the buck, mine is my main player.

Jackson needs to step up quick!
switch to ebony... even if you have to dye it.. more maple fretboard models across ALL of the range (maple fretboard warrior!!!! yum!) and lose the crap, that is rosewood on all but the lowest models, cos it SUCKS. i will not buy one guitar that has a rosewood fretboard. EVER!
i like the soloist 7 string.. but.. WRONG FRETBOARD
i need one.. and the only thing that is close to what i want is the schecter loomis. i'd much rather have a jackson made in japan with similar specs!

and i bet more people feel the same way

btw.. anyone seen pix of these yet? GOD DAMN, that is a paddle of a headstock!!!! why dont they make the 3+4 works a million times better than that abomination

I tried the new PDX demmelition, for 530 CAD, it plays really good. The pro series price is getting ridiculous. I saw a RR3(new ones have binding apparently) for 1050$.

            I payed 600$ for my RR3 2-3 years ago :S

The archtops look really nice but overall I'd have to say I was disappointed. My biggest disappointment was that these new EMG models meant the demise of the SL3 and therefore a passive equipped Soloist with an OFR at a reasonable price. As a result I rushed out and bought an SL3 in Trans Blue before they disappeared. It was about £200 at least cheaper than the new models but, for me at least, with better pups so it was a no brainer. I'd have liked an ebony board too but in fairness, the rosewood is much better quality than on my previous Ibanez.

At least the quality of Jacksons' rosewood boards is much higher than many of their rivals - just compare the dark smooth 'board of a MIJ DK2 at £400 to an equivalent price made in Indonesia LTD, for example. No competition!

What's everyone's gripe with rosewood? Is it the way they look, or the association with rosewood, and low end models?

As far as looks, every now and then, I come across a guitar with a VERY nice looking rosewood fretboard. They're out there. You just have to look for them.

                          This

Also, I play METAL! and as goofy as it sounds, I just don't like the look of a "brown" board on my black guitars. I know the discussion re: rosewood being a nicer tone wood for some applications, that's why I used to experiment with "ebonizing" my rw boards....didn't really get far with that

I just like the smoothness and look of ebony better.

Rosewood just feels spongy and with less snap after maple or ebony. Looks -- not the issue. If you prefer rosewood for the way you pay, fine -- but not to offer ebony, that's points off.
