You really should know by now, that Jackson don't put out guitars that would sell god or that people want!
People ask then they don't buy. we got the maple rhoads because people asked now it's discontinued.

I wonder if this is it, or anything else (hopefully more exciting) will be released?

yep. A lot of people are all talk & no action. Check out the Limited Run section of the JCF. Loads of people demand particular features but when it comes to actually committing to a limited run, the numbers are rarely there. Which really sucks for the few people that are prepared to put their money where their mouths are.

Go check out the Limited section & feel Newc's pain
        Hail yesterday

Actually what I see is every thread is "How about this?" and every follow-up is woodworking changes, arguments about color, etc.

Getting 10 people to want the same custom guitar is like herding cats.

Herding cats is easy. Just fool them into thinking it's feeding time by calling them into the kitchen, then close the door behind them.

Well I'm not going to claim that I know what people will or will not buy. It just seems, based on the success and popularity of the DK2Ms, that they would offer maple boards on other lower end models. I'm not even saying that I would personally buy one, just wondering why there aren't more maple boarded models since they seem so popular. And mainly wondering if it is because it's cheaper for them to do rosewood boards. Anyone actually know?

I maybe didn't use the right word - maybe "inspired" ...anyway

About the pickups, they should have but Duncans in there as it is a Jackson! Yeah that would be the same ol too, but a JB7 is a killer 7 string pickup and Duncans in general go hand in hand with Jacksons.

And everone else put's emg's in their guitars - i'm done buying guitars only
to have to swap and get rid of another set of emg's, enough already.

There's not much that differentiates the 7 from a lot of other 7's - which some are a few hundred cheaper and you can get a Maple or Ebony board if you want, and you can still have those HUGE ass Emg's.

lastly No binding - that would of made the headstock look sleeker/smaller and also made the guitar look Jackson Class.

The price point is ok for what it is i guess, But i personally would rather pay a little more and it have binding and duncans.

not to be all negative, i'm sure there's a lot of happy people about it.

                  +1.

I really hope that Jackson has got something to add in that sense. I have two USA Jacksons and love them to death! Frankly, new budget models do not interest me at all. I know that cheaper (or "more affordable") guitars = more sales and more potential buyers, but I wish Jackson would appeal more to the loyal fan base that have shelled out a lot more money on USA models in the past (and would like to continue to do so). If this is all we get from Jackson, I will be disappointed (much like last year), but I still love Jackson! I just won't be ordering anything brand new and I'll have to shop around and check out what other companies are offering.

Doesn't seem like it. Most people on the sevenstring forums are very unhappy about it and are only holding out to play it because they have some jackson fans as well.

Some nice ideas, I like that they bring back archtop Soloist models... I sure love my Sam Ash Limited model. However that one has binding and Duncans, which these lack (EMGs can be swapped of course, so no issue).

Upgrades to JS series and the introduction of the PDX are good moves IMO.

I'm just missing the big bang... of course they'll bring lots and lots of fancy, superexpensive customs again for the 30th birthday, but...
                      - no USA select 7-strings?
                      - no replacement for the RR24M (if indeed it is discontinued...)
                      - no highend japanese string-thru King V?

And instead of (or additional to) upgrading the entire entry level series they should have added binding to the Pro models. From the front, the KV5FR now looks identical to not only the KVX10, but the JS32T King V as well (except for the trem).

Agreed. Personally, I think there should be more finishes on USA Selects. Jackson should also consider offering quilted finish options like they used to in the 90's... ; Or indeed (as it has been suggested elsewhere on this forum) a stringthru version of all current USA Selects (black hardware tho - I wouldn't wanna damage the body trying to remove chrome ferrules).

Hmmmmmm, pretty boring lineup. I'm not usually one of those that sit behind my computer saying "Jackson should do this" or "Jackson should do that" but c'mon! Where's the style that has always been synonymous with the brand? When I first started playing (and loving) Jackson guitars, the main reason was because they dared to be different, offering something that you couldn't get somewhere else, whether it be finish options, pickup configs or just plain old quality. I see none of that here. Nothing that sets Jackson apart from any other Ibanez, Schecter or ESP/LTD on the rack.

I've always wanted an Archtop, and someday I will have one. The green swirl appeals to me but not with EMGs. I know that's being picky, but that's a lot of money for an import, especially when you have to turn around and mod it.

                          Total FAIL!

I wondering if there are some models that are being held back for NAMM.
