Anyway, it's a nice tribute to a true legend. RIP Randy.

Can somebody well-versed on the "no more RR LTDs" policy explain how they can do this? Can Fender just ignore it because the policy was made by AMIC, and can just be viewed as a sales pitch on their part? Is it that Delores has final say, and people confused that with meaning that there would never be any more made?

Not trying to rain on the parade. I'm just genuinely curious about it. The guitar looks awesome, and I agree that RR is hugely deserving of a perfect replica tribute.

Probably because Randy's family gave them permission to do this. Or maybe because they're reserving the design for things exactly like this.

Really? I knew about these about 4 months ago, if not more. It might not have been publicised, but it wasn't 'from out of nowhere' either...

            It's 12/6/56... December 6, 1956.

Yeah I think his point Joe is if he was born on January 1st, the guitar would only have cost $1156...

They'd have to set up a lottery if that was the price.

That is the proper way to make relics! A limited edition memento to a legendary instrument and guitarist - not just a regular model with distressed hardware and some paint sanded off.

I always wanted to have a worn guitar that costs a new car

Mine too, which is why I bought a new LTD when they were announced in '91 (took delivery of LTD057 in spring of '92). My issue is that it was promised that they would never build it again. I was pissed when they did that small run a few years back, but now 60?!! FMIC not abiding by the former owner's commitment to their customers is a travesty IMO. When you buy a company, you take on its baggage as well as its assets.

Any LTD owners up for a class action suit?

I will say that it looks great...at least it appears that they got the small details right this time.
