It seems to be a mix of mine and the original black and brass PCS series... my only guess.

Grover had it in his garage up until the early-mid 90's. Rob lane found it, had it completed and I bought it from Rob around 2001. Yeah, crazy huh?

That is probably the Sickest thing ever... I mean, I just about shit myself when I found out I can have the guy who made guitars for Randy, build my custom shop order.... But to actually have a guitar that was built and intended for him? that is utterly unreal!! I would probably slip into a coma as I opened the case for the first time after the UPS man dropped it off... you must have been wicked pumped... I can't even begin to imagine.

When I found out that Rob was selling it, it was like really unbelievable... I thought that I would never get the chance to buy it.... I can't explain what I felt when I actually grabbed it, held it and played it.... magical...

I'd be afraid to play it as I couldn't hold RR's pick, let alone play his guitar. I'd throw the entire space time continuum off or some shit that would bring the world to a screetching halt!

                    Great story.

Think it was ever touched by Randy? Did he maybe visit the shop when
the body was being made? Or was he dead already?

I have one of his picks (tortoise Fender medium) from the Blizzard tour...it's really not hard to hold at all

You mentioned the kahler. Seems like I remember when that guitar was being restored that Rob Lane said something about the neck pitch needing to be fixed or something like that. I bet it was originally made for a kahler because doesn't the neck pitch have to be different for one of those?

I remember when Rob was selling off his guitars. Some people got some really nice ones out of that sale. I wished I wasn't broke at the time!
