Apparently it wasn't very hard to keep the secret at all. The secret is so well kept we don't even know what the f-n secret is! In fact I bet all our phone lines get tapped now just because we clicked this link! I'm sure it's all a giant CIA conspiracy! Oh damn it, now I have said too much!

screw you guys I'm off to make my aluminum skull cap!
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Can you clarify what you are asking instead of just apologizing for not making any sense and leaving?

I cant go to sleep tonight unless I find out why this thread was started and what the big secret is.

I'm going to assume it's got something to do with the Adrian Smith sig - maybe the pickups or tuners.

Sorry guys; iphoning this in, in case this looks weird... Sorry for the big drama; it's my birthday and I was trying to get packed for the keys and such...

I was wondering when the deal was inked for the AS model, and if anyone could help me with a year for my model 2B and SL2H based on the serial numbers. The serial is fading on the soloist, and I got the bass when I was a kid and was told that it was an '86...

As for the secret, that has to do with the Dinky. The inspection date is in late November and the deal wasn't announced until January, so I was wondering how long it was a secret. How long do they take to build?

                  Have sweet weekends!

Probably at least 6 months to a year after finalizing the paperwork, since that has to go through specific legal channels on both sides. Then you've got tour schedules, holidays, weekends, etc. Then you've also got to have time to build up some dealer inventory, get the dealers on board for it, plus you're already building your regular production and Custom Shop pieces, NAMM pieces, etc.

It's safe to say that if yours has a November inspection date, it was built in September or October to give the paint time to cure.
