I picked up a new toy last week. Fender Strat HM. guitar is great but I noticed something I never saw (heard) before. When you play a single note and hold it, the sound kind of wobbles. You know when your tuning using harmonics, the sound wobbles until you get it in tune then it evens out?Thats what it sounds like Except it does this whenever you fret a single note. If you hit a harmonic its fine.Single notes are wobbly. Its on all strings anywhere on the fretboard. Intonation seems fine. Anyone know what this is?

The single coils are too high and pulling on the strings. Lower them.-------------------------

Love my stupid HM Strat. The original pickups are long gone, so no wobbles.Comment

What pickups you got?I love the guitar but not in love with the single coils that are in it. Actually I raised them because they just didn't sound that great . I guess I will lower them and look into some replacements.Comment
