Rhoads Professional string change? what gauge?

Hello everybody!
I am a lucky owner of a 1990/1995 Jackson Randy Rhoads Professional,
neck thru body. Great guitar!!!
I have to change the strings, but I'm afraid to damage the neck
In fact the previous owner used to have 10-46 gauge tuned in D.
I am afraid that the strings, once tuned in standard E (my favorite tuning), will bring too much tension to the neck and, maybe, could damage it.
Is it a real risk or just a paranoia?:think:
I've thought a 9-42 gauge could be better for the neck, but I prefer the feeling of a 10-46 gauge.

There will be no damage, don't worry. You will have to adjust spring tension in the back so the trem bar could sit straight.

Yes, you are paranoid and need to worry about something else. If you were putting on bass strings and tuning to E we might have a problem.

The worse issue that "might" happen (highly unlikely) is that with the increased tension, you might need to adjust the truss rod to remove some relief that gets created, if any does.

So, if after tuning to E, you notice your action in the middle of the ffretboard getting a little higher, adjust the truss rod tighter.

Righty tighty lefty loosy.

edit: And as was mentioned above, you may need to adjust you Floyd springs slightly.
