  • Lets talk shielding...

None of my guitar cavities are shielded...unless Jackson uses some special paint for their cavities on their Professional series.

To those that have done it, has sheilding your control cavities made a noticeable difference in feedback and noise?

    Also...what's recommended...paint or copper shielding.

    Any How-To's?

    TIA

Does it matter if you use copper or aluminum tape?

copper is better by general consensus, but aluminum tape is used and has been used for a long time by manufacturers.

also i'll add that i believe the biggest noticeable difference is obtained by shielding the pickup cavities, and good wiring and soldering.

but if your going to do it, might as well shield it all, it does make it better.

minus the tremelo cavity, it's not needed.

of course if your using emg it's probably not much of an issue.

Only ask cause I have aluminum tape on hand and getting ready to finish the Model 6. I'll use the aluminum.
