Discovered that my Jackson locking nut has string grooves worn into the top part of it, making it impossible to clamp the strings completely. Any ideas where I can find one? These things are a bad design to begin with, b/c the A and B string angle down across the top of the locking screw, and will eventually mess up the threads on the screw. I had to replace the one on my model 88 back in '93, b/c it messed the threads up on the screw. I might just consider getting a Floyd nut installed to replace the factory nut. Parts for those are easy to find and replace. Then the truss rod cover won't look quite right, I guess I could get another one made to cover the correct space. Thanks for your input.

Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing, it's the behind-the-nut string lock that came with the JT-6 trem, right? Other than modding it to take a floyd locknut, your best bet is probably to get a Kahler stringlock to replace it. They sell them at wammiworld.com or kahlerparts.com for around $40.00

Budman sold me locking screw and pads for the JT6 once. I don't see them listed separately on his site, though._________________________________________________

Glad you mentioned Budman! Check this out. He's got whole replacement stringlocks that fit the JT-6 screw pattern for $17!
That should fix you right up, darnoc.

My JT6 kinda drives me nuts. Wherever I take the guitar, it leaves a trail of parts that fell off of it behind me. I really need to take the plunge and drop an OFR on there._________________________________________________
