How to clean old nasty pickups?

I never played a J-85. The X2N is waaaay hotter than a J-90C though, which was Jackson's hottest pickup (at least it was in the 80's).

I think the 80c is just a little lower output than the 85. There both a little much for me. God that 80c is fantastic though.

Is that neck pickup really a bridge pickup? Just wondering, since the screw poles are nearer the bridge.

You can get plastic pickup covers from ebay. I put some on my KE3. They just slip right over your pickup. I had to widen the neck rout on the KE3 a little bit, but otherwise it was "plug and play".

Both guitars have cream DiMarzio PAFs in the neck, which I thought looked out of place on these particular guitars. The covers look great IMO.

I had a J50N in an old Kelly XLR that was just like that. That pickup was one of my favorite neck pups ever!

MartinBarre1- thats fantastic. I was looking at them and hoping they would fit. They used the 80c on the bridge mainly, but it came stock in this guitar. by far my favorite. Thanks for the eye candy too
