Just wondering if there is a general rule of thumb on how to know when your frets need leveld/crowned. The flat spots I see seem minor but there are a lot of them towards 1-7, and I am starting to see about about 5 spots or so where the coils of the wound strings are leaving grooves in the frets. Now that I am looking more closely I also see that from about 2-7 under the a string all have a little dip in them. Any advice?

if you start hearing warbling notes or buzz, or notes aren't true then it's time.
