Torque specs for neck?

I would've sent it back, "sorry, I bought a guitar, not a DIY Toycaster"

As long as the seller specified this in the auction, I see no problem with unbolting the neck before shipping. I've seen this before with sellers. Without a case, it makes shipping cheaper and less of a headache with potential neck damage during shipping.

BTW, I like to tighten the neck screws with an X-pattern. First loosely, then slightly tightened, then really tightened, all in an effort not to slam one corner of the neck pocket to reduce neck pocket finish cracks. Not sure if it works, but I feel better!

It didn't come with a case. It's a nice way of packing it to minimize damage. I've done that a few times.

I'd especially prefer it with a point or angled headstock.

Yes, it was specified in the auction, but I wouldn't have cared either way. I've had to bite my nails many times while waiting for guitars to be shipped to me, several times without cases. This guy did a better job packing than all the rest of them put together. You could have played football with the package and I'm pretty confident there would have been 0 damage. This is the only time it was an option to unbolt the neck, since the rest were neck-through, but I'd definitely request it from now on.

You only have to worry when they ship your neckthru with the neck removed.

I put it together before I posted, not sure if it's tight enough. I was conservative. It seems fine as is. I'd still like the information, though.
