Cleaning off Autographs and what is "Intonation"?

Hi guys got Edguy autographs on my Charvel Model 6 when i was younger, wanting to clean em off now, whats the best way? Some have worn due to sweat, will guitar polish do the job? (guessing not)


Also what exactly is Intonation? is that just the trust rod? I know how to setup my guitar i've just never got around to learning what this word means :P

Intonation is not the truss rod. It's when you compare the 12th fret harmonic to the note fretted at the 12th fret. If the fretted note is sharp, then the saddle needs to move back. If the fretted note is flat, then the saddle needs to move forward, towards the nut.

What do u think of rubbing alcohol? From what I've read it sounds like it does the job better than lighter fluid, Isocol (www.isocol.com.au) seems to be the Aussie equivalent. Reckon it'll do the job?


Also how long should I wait before applying polish after using rubbing alocihol to remove the autograpsh?

You dont really need to wait at all. Alcohol evaporates very quickly, so as soon as its dry polish it up.
