Non-recessed floyd rose bridge height

Hey guys what's up?

There's a guitar that has a non-recessed original floyd rose, it was built with neck tilt and with the bridge situated so that there is "7mm between the body top and the floyd rose base plate". Does anyone know how many steps the trem bar could be pulled back with this set up? I ask because I'm planning on getting a custom Jackson built and want to know more about this. Thanks!

Lots - 7mm would give a pretty damn big range of upward travel...

depending on how deep the rout is on a recessed floyd, there isn't much more than 7mm of travel, on my rhoads its about 7-10mm before it bottoms out in the cavity, as nelli said you should get heaps of upward travel with the 7mm mentioned above

If you are willing to mess with the neck angle, you can change the bridge height to whatever makes you happy. So just pick what you want and have the neck angled to match.

the guage of strings,scale, and tuning preference also throw a sneaky variable to your answer as well.
