I had a set of Full Shreds in my old The Paul II and they are... A little thin/bright. They did OK in Mahogany but it sounded thinner than the stock pickups. I would not want them with ash/alder/a Floyd, UNLESS you are looking for a fairly bright neck pickup that won't have a lot of bass like neck pickups usually do - of the two I really kinda liked the Full Shred neck for that reason - if you typically find that soloing on the neck pickup leaves you wishing for less darkness and bottom end, it would be a good pickup to try.
