Replacing the brass nut in a Carvin?? Know how??? need help!

Hey, I got a righty to lefty conversion going on with my V220 and i'm totally new to replacing the nut on necks. Its the brass nut if that helps.

I followed some basic guides such as:
..scoring around the nut with an exacto/razor blade and lightly trying to hit it out vertically. It didn't budge.

I also grabbed it with some pliers and tried yanking it out by slowly going back and forth with it, but nothing worked either.

Any pointers? thanks a ton

Heat it up by holding a soldering iron against it for a bit then give it a light smack with a rubber or plastic mallet.
