  • Floyded neck with string thru body??

Can you use a neck from a tremolo equipped guitar on a body from a string thru? Like a early '90's XL neck with a mid 2000's DXMGT body? Or will the scale/intonation be way off?

That won't affect the scale length or intonation, but a Floyd nut without the clamps isn't really ideal as a nut. You can't clamp it down without fine-tuners (well, at least, good luck having it actually be in-tune.)

You could probably have the locking nut replaced with a Gibson-style nut, or add a shelf and a Fender-style nut, but it would look sort of weird.

The string-thru aspect is what makes this the most difficult to deal with. There are fixed bridges that have fine tuners, they don't look too cool, but Schaller has a fixed bridge with fine tuners.

You could as Jazz said, add a gibson nut into the Floyd slot, or make a shelf and put in a Fender nut. The guitar would tune and intonate properly, just look a bit different. If you want to go that route though, forget about it looking a bit different and just go for it. Plenty of top guitarists have famous guitars that look like pure beaters (Green Meanie, 5150 tape etc.)
